about me
My locksmith adventure started in 1985 as an 18-year-old. Looking back over the years it has certainly been a experience; brimming with tales of people and businesses.
After my 5-year apprenticeship I spent the next 10 years working with different locksmith gaining great knowledge which led to working at Timpson Locksmith for over 20 years.
I helped build Timpson into a national locksmith company and run a series of workshops for customer service staff. Set up a classroom and taught new and experienced locksmiths in all aspects of the job.
During this time my son also worked with me, so I was able to help him learn the trade.
I took voluntary redundancy when Timpson had a reorganisation, as I felt the time was right to venture onto new pastures and it also enabled my son to continue his career.
They say as one door closes another opens … I didn’t however expect that it would unlock a whole new life in a different country (did you like the pun!)!
So, here I am in France as The Lock Doc and currently living the dream with my partner, her children, a dog, cats, chickens and ducks!
Becoming a locksmith in France has reignited my passion for the trade and learning new skills with the different locking systems used in Europe.
From fitting new master suites and renovating old French locks to their former glory in a Château to opening and making a new key for an antique writing desk. My day is never dull!

With over 38 years experience and available 24 hours a day 6 1/2 days a week.
(not a Sunday morning when I play football or if Liverpool football team are playing) 😉
